Renowned hospitality group Carlson Rezidor, which boasts a firm presence in more than 100 countries worldwide with a portfolio of over 1,000 hotel units across the globe, is soon to expand its operations to Cyprus. In cooperation with a Cypriot firm, the Carlson Rezidor Group – which owns the Radisson Hotels company – will launch the first phase of its operations in Cyprus through the construction and operation of a new hotel in Larnaca, entitled Radisson Blu Larnaca. The hotel’s construction is expected to cost some €35 million. On Friday, September 4, a press conference will be held in Larnaca to offer further details of the development. The group currently counts 1,370 hotels in operation or under development, with a world-class range of the names in its portfolio such as: • Quorvus Collection • Radisson Blu • Radisson Red • Park Plaza • Park Inn By Radisson • Country Inns & Suites by Carlson It is noted that an agreement will be signed between the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group and Cypriot Quality Group, which is expected to undertake the construction of the new luxury hotel. Set to hold some 105 rooms, the development will be located in the port area of Larnaca’s popular Finikoudes seafront. Radisson Blu Larnaca is expected to be completed and put into operation in the summer of 2017. The management of the hotel will be assigned to Sunnyseeker Hotels, a company operating in the international hotel management sector.
